Pushkar – The Holy City of Rajasthan

The holy city of Pushkar is one of the oldest cities of India located to the northwest of Ajmer. It is one of the most favored holiday destinations for all those people who live in metropolitan cities and want a break from the hustle and bustle of the big cities. Along with being a peaceful spot for tourists, the beautiful city of Pushkar also attracts many devotees from all over the world. It is home to around 400 temples, Brahma Temple being the most famous amongst them all. It is the only temple dedicated to Lord Bhrama in the entire world and it is believed that Lord Bhrama, in search of a place to perform yagna, dropped a lotus and therefore the place was named as ‘Pushkar’.

The famous Camel Fair –  The annual Pushkar Fair is held in the month of October/November. One of the major attractions here is the camel fair. The camels are bought, sold and paraded on the sand dunes, painting an eye-catching picture. This famous Pushkar Fair brings together villagers from every part of the state.
Holi at Pushkar – A completely different side of Pushkar is exposed during the time of Holi. The Holi celebration in this city is very big, loud and colorful to a different level. People from all over the world participate in this mega celebration and if you have not explored its magic yet, you are missing on some real adventure.
