Summers in Rajasthan can be fun too!

Rajasthan can be unforgiving in the summers, but if planned well, the desert state can give you an unforgettable experience for quick getaways. While the months from March to June can be hot & arid, there are places like Mount Abu and Udaipur where the temperatures are apt for a vacation- be it a family trip or solo travel. In these two destinations, while the afternoons can get a bit warm during the summer months, the mornings and evenings are cooler, giving ample time for visiting the tourist spots or simply enjoying the break.

Sightseeing in Mount Abu has something for everyone, with places like Dilwara Jain Temple, Nakki Lake, Toad Rock, Guru Shikhar, Achalgarh Fort, and Mount Abu Wildlife Sanctuary. The only hill station in Rajasthan, it is a good place to visit the whole year around though, especially in summers keeping the low temperatures in mind.

Udaipur is another city in Rajasthan; though not a hill station, it is a good choice for summer trips. With the Aravali hills around it, Udaipur offers lakes of all shapes and sizes. Lake Pichola is a must for anyone visiting the city, and it has featured in many Bollywood movies. So if you want to get a feel of being a movie star, then take a boat ride on the lake and witness the beauty of nature apart from clicking photographs. There are many havelis, temples, and palaces, for tourists to see.

While both these places offer everything for weekend getaways, it would be advisable to plan a couple of weeks in advance to ensure suitable accommodation as well as travel arrangements. However, while these places have a cooler climate than other parts of Rajasthan, remember to keep yourself hydrated and carry along sunscreen as well. Also, keep in mind that covid cases are still being reported, so mask up whenever out in public places.

So pack up and have fun!
