A Sign of relief for Silicosis Patients

Along with the new silicosis policy, the silicosis victims of the state are getting the benefits of many schemes. Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot is very sensitive to the interests of every section of the state. Due to which cashless treatment facility is being provided in the state, so despite the adverse circumstances of Corona, relief is being provided to every section.

Under this, he started the Silicosis Policy, 2019 from October 3, 2019, for financial assistance to the people suffering from silicosis disease in the state. Thousands of silicosis sufferers are getting benefits from this. Under this policy, a person suffering from silicosis is given financial assistance of Rs. 3 lakh for rehabilitation after certification and a special social security pension of Rs.1500 per month is being given to him/her as a specially-abled person.

After the death of the victim, financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh is provided to the dependents of his/her family. Widow pension is provided to the dependent women according to her age. Financial assistance of Rs 10,000 is provided for the cremation of the victim.

On the sensitive initiative of Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot, children of silicosis-affected families are given the benefits of the Palanhar scheme.

He has approved the inclusion of the names of silicosis patients and their families, who have been deprived of being included in the list of National Food Security, in the list of beneficiaries of the National Food Security Scheme (NFSA). With this sensitive decision, silicosis patients and their families will get the benefit of food security in 19 thousand 541 identified cases.

Thus, on the initiative of Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot, along with implementing a new policy for the victims of neglected silicosis disease for years, they are being provided the benefits of various schemes of the state government, giving them the right to live life with dignity.
