Jaipur: The Hub of Culture & Colours

One of the largest city in India, Jaipur  has a distinctive collection of Magnificent palaces, Spectacular forts, Gardens, Museums, Astonishing  arts and artifacts. The enticing city is the capital of the vivid and cultured state Rajasthan. The Glorious  constructions are a blend of the artistic style of Rajput and Mughal rulers.

HISTORY

Built by Sawai Jai Singh II in 1727, who was the ruler of Amer. Planned and Designed by a Bengali architect, Vidhyadhar Bhattacharya, Jaipur is the First Planned City of modern India.  Bhattacharya followed the principles of Shilpa Shastra & also incorporated Vastu Shastra in the planning, for the comfort and prosperity of the citizens. The Old City was laid out in a rectangle shape of nine blocks out of which 2 were allotted to state buildings and palaces, while the remaining 7 allotted to the public.

The City of Jaipur is also known as Pink city because in the 1876, under the reign of Sawai Ram Singh, it was painted with terracotta pink colour in grand welcome of the Prince of Wales as a symbol of Hospitality.

Full of Art & Culture, the City of Jaipur incorporates in it some beautiful Museums one of which is the Oldest Government Museum also called the Albert hall Museum.

Other Museums include Anokhi Museum which exhibits Stunning Block Paintings, Doll Museum for people who love culture and the Famous Wax museum for smitten celebrity Statues.

Jaipur is one of the Famous Destinations for shopping as well. From clothing to pottery and leather products to carpets, you will come across the best of the best in Jaipur.

Some of the Famous bazaars in Jaipur are the Tripolia, Bapu and the Nehru Bazaars.
