R-CAT – A Leap Forward Step for the Youth of Rajasthan

Former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna, Late Shri Rajiv Gandhi, realized the power and importance of information technology and introduced computers in India in the 1990s, enriching the youth capabilities of the nation. Concerning the capability building of youth, the Government of Rajasthan has developed a leapfrog strategy in various fields, including digital technology, vocational education, entrepreneurship, and startup-up ecosystem in the state. The government of Rajasthan is very much determined to enhance the employment opportunities for all the undergraduates/ graduates/ postgraduates of the state, and has developed the Rajiv Gandhi Center of Advanced Technology (R-CAT) in the state budget for the financial year 2021-2022. R-CAT was incorporated under the Rajasthan Society Registration Act 1958 in the year 2022 in the district of Jaipur.

The Government of Rajasthan is managing R-CAT with the Department of Information Technology & Communication (DoIT&C) support. The Department of Information Technology & Communication is strengthening the administration of state programs and services by putting technological assistance into the project of R-CAT. 

R-CAT is acting as the “First Finishing School” in India for developing technical and soft skills of youth and working professionals to make them industry ready. The vision of R-CAT is to provide a cohesive environment for developing a quality technical workforce for the industry and government through globally recognized training programs, reducing the gap between learning and application of technology. R-CAT is focusing on providing multi-disciplinary knowledge and research opportunities to youth in the latest IT technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Robotics, Blockchain, Augmented Reality (AR), and Virtual Reality (VR). 

The center of R-CAT is aiming to deliver quality education in the field of IT in collaboration with Global Industry Leaders. The Global Tech Leaders list includes Oracle, SAS, VMware, Autofina Robotics, Red Hat, Cisco, and many more.

The courses offered by R-CAT cater to the needs of tech students of B.Tech, B.E, B.Sc IT, BCA, M.Tech, M.Sc IT, MCA, ITIs, Polytechnic, and other technical backgrounds.
